RIDE RECYCLED
RENEW SERIES APPAREL - LUXURIOUS PERFORMANCE, LESS IMPACT
The last year has shown how adaptable we can be, and how much we can change when needed. As a brand with a legacy of innovation and design leadership, we are committed to meaningful changes, including using sustainable materials in ever new apparel product we launch.
WHAT IS RENEW SERIES?
Renew Series products are made with recycled nylon, polyester, elastane and Econyl® Lycra® made from reclaimed fishing nets and other ocean debris. At least 50% of the finished product must use fabrics and materials with recycled content to earn the Renew Series designation. Every style in the Renew Series offers UPF protection and provides 100% of the comfort, performance and durability you expect from Giro, while reducing environmental burden and improving the health of our oceans and planet.

NEW FOR 2020
This season, our Thermal Arm and Thermal Leg Warmers get an upgrade to Renew Series materials. These luxurious, high performance warmers align with our commitment to use recycled content in any new or updated apparel we launch, giving riders a more sustainable choice. We also redesigned our apparel packaging to reduce waste and reduced the amount of plastic used by up to 34%. And our polybags are now made with 100% recycled plastic that is also more easily recycled to help minimize waste.
BY THE NUMBERS
At this time, 30% of our entire apparel product line
uses recycled materials, and
47% of our styles use bluesign® approved materials. By spring 2022, those numbers will jump to 54% of our
entire apparel line using recycled materials, and 55% using bluesign® approved materials. We are also moving
away from using long-chain DWR coatings in our fall products where we can, changing to new PFC-free coatings
which have a much lower impact on the planet.
You can enjoy the comfort and performance of premium cycling
apparel, while making a choice that’s better for you and the planet. Choose to Ride Recycled, with the Renew
Series.
